Stans/Moose Jaw - Pilatus will deliver a total of 19 PC-21 jets to the Royal Canadian Air Force. These aircraft are to be used in the training of new pilots.

Pilatus, the aircraft manufacturer based in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden in Switzerland, has agreed a long-term contract to supply the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). As detailed in a press release, the company will deliver a total of 19 PC-21 training aircraft to Canada. The contract was concluded with KF Aerospace as part of its collaboration with SkyAlyne in connection with the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program operated by the RCAF.

The aircraft, which will be stationed at the RCAF base in Moose Jaw in the province of Saskatchewan, are intended to support the advanced training of military pilots from 2026 onwards. The advantage of the PC-21 over conventional training aircraft is its modern avionics to ensure a seamless transition to frontline jets, according to SkyAlyne senior executive Kevin Lemke. “In addition, the PC-21’s innovative design delivers a significant reduction in operating costs and greater efficiency in training operations”, he adds, before concluding that these qualities “make the PC-21 the ideal choice for Canada”.

“This contract is further proof of the capabilities of our PC-21 training system. Canada ranks amongst the world’s most renowned and professional air forces, and we’re very proud to be part of this groundbreaking project”, comments Markus Bucher, CEO of Pilatus, in the press release. ce/ww
